Torfan Wantarnagon

Torfan (Nene) Wantarnagon is a dedicated finance student who believes that everyone deserves an equal opportunity in the pursuit of success. She’s confident that with the right education and opportunities, her aspirations are well within reach. She is the founder of Fun Finance Project.

My Story

One of Nene’s most memorable childhood experiences was when her father introduced her to business analysis on their way to school. By observing the occupation rate of billboards, they would discuss how it related to the current economic situation. Another cherished memory is how they would observe the foot traffic of each restaurant when visiting shopping malls, making observations on how well each business was doing. This early exposure sparked her passion for business analysis and investing, a field she has been committed to exploring and expanding her knowledge in ever since. It also motivated her to seek practical ways to apply these insights in her everyday life.

Currently, Nene serves as the Vice President of the student council, delivers weekly investment lectures to her school’s teachers and staff, and manages her own blog—a true reflection of her dedication to both her academic and extracurricular pursuits. In these lectures, she focuses on fundamental investment strategies and personal finance, aiming to help her audience gain a clearer understanding of money management and financial planning.

Nene is the founder of the Fun Finance Project (www.FunFinance.net), a mission-driven initiative she created to make economics and finance easy to understand and relevant to everyday life. It all began in 2024, when she wrote her first book, Fun Finance — a simple, engaging guide that introduces kids to the world of money and economics in a way that actually makes sense. Inspired by how learning about finance at a young age changed her own perspective, she wrote the book to give other children that same early advantage. Since then, the Fun Finance Project has grown to include public talks for parents and children, interactive workshops for teachers, and deeper explorations into how economic systems affect everyday choices. As part of this journey, Nene also developed four free iOS apps that focus on practical money skills — like price comparison, budgeting, understanding opportunity cost, and inflation — all designed to be interactive and accessible to anyone, even those new to finance. With the Fun Finance Project, Nene hopes to expand her reach across Thailand and beyond, helping people build strong financial foundations and empowering them to make thoughtful, confident decisions for their future.

Her long-term goal is to establish an organization that helps people, particularly the less fortunate, gain a solid understanding of business and finance. Through accessible workshops, resources, and mentorship, she hopes to empower others to further their education and expand their opportunities in life. Once the organization is up and running, Nene envisions that those she helps will be able to apply their knowledge to build something meaningful for themselves, improving their own quality of life as well as that of others.
